Beedha Masthan Rao Yadav is an Indian politician and businessman from Andhra Pradesh.[1][2][3] He was Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) for Kavali constituency. He was elected to the Rajya Sabha in 2022. Political career From 2001 to 2006, Rao was ZPTC Member of Bogole Mandal, in Nellore district. In 2004, he contested as a member of the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly for the Allur constituency. From 2009 to 2014, he was MLA for Kavali constituency, Andhra Pradesh, and was on the Legislative Committee for BC Welfare. He was also Chairman of the Standing Committee on Labour, Factories, Employment and Training, Tourism; and Information Technology. From 2014 to 2019, Rao was an advisory member of the Capital Region Development Authority of the Government of Andhra Pradesh. In 2019, he contested for election to the Nellore Lok Sabha constituency. In 2022, Rao was elected as Member of Parliament in the Rajya Sabha, and served on the Consultative Committee for the Ministry of Commerce and Industry. He resigned to YSR Congress party's primary membership and also as Rajya Sabha MP on 29 August 2024.[4] He joined Telugu Desam Party in the Presence of Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu on 9 October 2024. Vijay Chintakayala (born 24 November 1984) is an Indian politician who is serving as a Member of Parliament in the Rajya Sabha from 2026 representing Andhra Pradesh. He is affiliated with the Telugu Desam Party (TDP). In June 2026, Vijay was elected unopposed to the Rajya Sabha from Andhra Pradesh as a candidate of the Telugu Desam Party.[1] [2] Early life and education Vijay was born on 24 November 1984 in Narsipatnam, Andhra Pradesh. He is the son of politician Chintakayala Ayyanna Patrudu and Ch. Padmavathi. He earned a master's degree in political management from George Washington University, a master's degree in political governance from the MIT School of Government, Pune, and a Bachelor of Technology degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University.[3] Political career Vijay is associated with the Telugu Desam Party. He participated in party activities and campaigns, including the Youth for Babu programme[4], the Mee Kosam Padayatra campaign and Mee Kosam Padayatra campaign[5] In 2014, he was appointed president of Telugu Yuvatha, the youth wing of the Telugu Desam Party. In November 2020, he was appointed a state general secretary of the Telugu Desam Party. He later served as convener of iTDP, the party's information technology and social media wing. In April 2026, he was reappointed as state general secretary.[6] In June 2026, the Telugu Desam Party nominated Chintakayala as a candidate for the Rajya Sabha from Andhra Pradesh. Paka Venkata Satyanarayana (born 1961) is an Indian politician from Bharatiya Janata Party. He was elected unopposed as the Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha from Andhra Pradesh in 2025. Before that, he was the party vice-president for BJP Andhra Pradesh from 2018 till 2021. Early life Satyanarayana was born in Bhimavaram, Andhra Pradesh, in 1961. Belonging to an OBC family, he is an advocate by profession.[1] At the age of 15, Satyanarayana joined the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) in 1976. He led the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad, the student branch of the RSS, at DNR College in Andhra Pradesh and was heavily involved in student politics.[2][3] Political career Satyanarayana joined the BJP in 1980. He became the BJP town general secretary, then a district secretary, and later elected as a counsellor in Bhimavaram Municipality. Later, he served as the BJP Assembly Convener from Bhimavaram. He contested the 1996 Lok Sabha elections from Narasapur but ranked fourth, securing less than 1% of the votes. He then contested for the MLC elections in 2006 but was unsuccessful.[4] Satyanarayana went on to become the BJP's state executive member in 1994 and served as its district president from Bhimavaram between 2006 and 2010. From 2012 to 2018, he served as its state Official Spokesperson for the BJP in Andhra Pradesh. He was a member of the election manifesto drafting committee for the then United Andhra Pradesh in 2014. Ryaga Krishnaiah (born 13 September 1954), known as R. Krishnaiah, is an Indian politician and social activist. Krishnaiah's political career gained prominence when he was elected as the Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) from the L.B. Nagar constituency in 2014, representing the Telugu Desam Party.[1] In 2022, Krishnaiah furthered his political career by being elected to the Rajya Sabha as a representative of the YSR Congress Party[2] from 2022 until 2024. Ryaga Krishnaiah resigned from the Upper House Rajya Sabha on 24 September 2024.[3] He was nominated to Rajyasabha by BJP on December 10 and elected uncontested to the Rajya Sabha on December 13.[4] Early life and education In addition to his work with OBC unions, Krishnaiah serves as the President of the Social Welfare Hostel Union. This organization represents 1.4 million hostel students from Scheduled Castes (SCs), Scheduled Tribes (STs), and OBCs. His political career includes serving as a Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) from 2014 to 2018. In 2014, he was nominated as the Chief Ministerial candidate for Telangana by both the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), reflecting his widespread influence and leadership. Over the years, Krishnaiah has also been actively involved with organizations like the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), and the Andhra Pradesh Social Welfare Hostel Students Union.[5] Early Activism and Educational Reforms In 1976, Krishnaiah began his campaign for separate hostels for high school students, which resulted in the Andhra Pradesh government establishing between 300 and 500 new hostels annually. Today, over 5,000 hostels provide free food and accommodation to more than 500,000 students from BC, SC, and ST communities. He also successfully led agitations to secure scholarships for poor students in junior colleges, degree colleges, and universities, which did not exist before 1976. Additionally, Krishnaiah's efforts resulted in the construction of over 600 residential colleges across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, offering educational opportunities to students from weaker sections. Reservation Advocacy In 1980, Krishnaiah spearheaded the movement to implement reservations for BC students in private engineering colleges in Andhra Pradesh. Despite an attempt by private engineering management to offer him ₹15 lakhs as a bribe, he refused and continued to push for reform, resulting in the successful implementation of reservations. From 1989 to 1993, Krishnaiah fought for reservations in village panchayat sarpanch posts for BCs, leading to the government conceding 34% reservations. His activism extended to mandal parishad, zilla parishad, and municipal elections, where he secured 20% reservations for BCs in 1996 after a series of protests directed at the then Chief Minister, N. T. Rama Rao. Implementation of Mandal Commission Recommendations Krishnaiah's most significant national recognition came in 1990 when he led successful protests in Andhra Pradesh for the implementation of the Mandal Commission recommendations. This victory established his influence on a national level, allowing him to directly submit memorandums and recommendations on behalf of the backward classes to state and national authorities, including the Prime Minister and the President of India.[6] Other Campaigns In 1996, Krishnaiah led protests by sarpanches from Andhra Pradesh demanding specific check power rights. The movement culminated in a successful negotiation with the state government, further cementing Krishnaiah's role as a champion of rural leadership. Krishnaiah has also been involved in various legal battles and protests, including a fight against the construction of the Almatti Dam and the campaign to ban single-number lotteries in Andhra Pradesh. Over his four-decade-long career, his activism has led to the issuance of over 2,000 Government Orders (GOs), addressing welfare, education, public health, and social justice issues.
